“Therapy is the compass that guides us through the uncharted territories of our minds, helping us discover the strength within to heal, grow, and find the resilience to face life’s challenges with newfound courage.”

Is traditional weekly therapy not working for you?

  • You balance so many other roles that the priority of individual therapy tends to fall on the wayside.

  • Sometimes individual therapy can feel like an inconvenience to your busy life rather than something you desire to do in that moment.

  • Is time an issue when scheduling.

  • Do you continue to put others needs in front of your own; You may feel like you’re often pouring from an empty cup.

You’re in the right place!

Intensive Therapy FAQ

  • An intensive therapy session in counseling is a longer and more concentrated therapeutic session, often lasting 3-4 hours per day (1.5-2 hours at a time) for multiple days.

This approach allows for a deep dive into specific issues, proving an immersive and focused experience for clients different from your typical 50-minute session.

  • During the intensive we work together to acknowledge pain points in your life, past or present, process relationships and events that affect your regulation in your day-to-day life, your trauma history, or your worries of the future.

This processing will be individualized to what your unique needs are at this time.

EMDR is utilized to initiate and guide the trauma process work. Through this experience you will gain new self-regulation tools and understandings.

After the EMDR intensive, we’ll meet for a post-intensive interview to reflect on what you processed and learned about yourself. What insights did you gain about yourself and how do you continue moving forward in life with these new revelations.

  • You’re wanting a quick and intensive approach to therapy.

You experienced a traumatic event/situation that is still affecting you today.

You are in individual therapy, but your therapist isn’t trained in EMDR, this is a good way to integrate that piece into your therapeutic journey.

Life is short; Why wait any longer.

  • “EMDR intensives are an effective, reliable & promising approach to treating PTSD quickly and with good patient retention rates.” (Simply Rewire) Hannelies (2017) “suggest that intensive EMDR therapy is feasible to implement within a treatment program for severe PTSD and that it has the potential to significantly decrease PTSD symptoms among patients with multiple or severe symptoms”.

  • The weekend retreat intensive includes intensive individualized EMDR therapy, and a weekend stay at a lakeside condo. You arrive Friday evening and depart Sunday morning. The therapist comes in person where you work together through your therapeutic journey. Some people prefer this option, to have the weekend to decompress, escape, and fully immerse themselves into the therapeutic process without having to rush back into their normal day to day duties.

EMDR Intensive therapy can help you…

  • Intensives offer the flexibility of diving into therapy for longer periods of time without having to meet weekly.

  • You prefer a retreat style intensive where you can get away from everything for the weekend.

  • Work through traumatic events and target memories that traditional therapy may take months to work up to.
